Nippa virus Malayalam video by doctor azad moopan. Nipah virus in kerala
Aster MIMS, Kozhikkode has extended support of five lakh rupees to the family of Lini Puthussery, the nurse who sacrificed her life attending to patients suffering from the deadly NIPAH virus. I would like to salute Lini for her dedication to work and express my condolences to the family of Lini. Lini has been a Staff Nurse at Aster MIMS, before joining the government service.
Kerala State Government and Health Ministry also deserve the appreciation for the instant action to curb the spread of the deadly outbreak of Nipah. Public health workers and health officials have been burning the midnight oil to ensure that the dreaded Nipah outbreak is contained to the smallest area possible. The Health Minister Smt Shailaja Teacher and Labour Minister Sri T.P. Ramakrishnan had sprung into action instantly and contacted Aster MIMS. We supported the efforts by sending medical professionals to contain the Outbreak of virus.
This incident reminds us the much-awaited requirement of Kerala to establish a Virology lab in the state as we are subjected to the seasonal outbreak of various viral diseases recently. Whenever a virus outbreak happens in Kerala, we have to depend on labs in neighboring states to perform the tests. I would urge, the government to take proactive steps for establishing a state of the art virology lab immediately in the state.
